In the society of Industry 4.0 and Big Data, information and data play a fundamental role both at individual and organizational level. The objective of this study is to analyze the role of precious actors in the business environment: namely, that of data analyst and data scientist. If their technical skills are clear, their behavioral competences (Social, Cognitive and Emotional competences) are still under investigated. Through an empirical analysis of a sample of both data analysts and data scientists, we describe the two job profiles and their soft skills, necessary to achieve a successful performance at work.
