This research will present some considerations about children literature and its translation with the aim of exploring a mysterious but significant macrocosm, owing to its literary, linguistic, and pedagogic issues. Furthermore, this paper will concentrate on the proposal of translation of the first two chapters of the children book L’Omelette au Sucre – histoires des Jeans-Quelque-Chose, by Jean-Philippe Arrou-Vignaud. The latter will comprehend a series of translation challenges as a consequence of its fidelity to the historical and social context. In this regard, the last part of this work will be dedicated to the comment of the employed translation strategies, notably as regards lexis, morphosyntax, and culture.
